Title: Cultivating Awareness of Climate Change and Student Leadership through Project-Based Learning in the High School Science Classroom

Bridget Molloy is a 2013 graduate from Boston University’s Masters of Art in Teaching program for Science Education. During the program she completed her teaching practicum at Quincy High School in Biology, earned a graduate certificate in Global Ecology Education and completed an internship with the New England Aquarium in curriculum development and design. In 2009, Bridget received her BA in both molecular biology and evolutionary biology from the University of Colorado. She also attended a workshop at the Smithsonian Institute on educational technologies last summer. This year she was invited to present at the student showcase for the National Science Teacher Association’s (NSTA) national conference a unit plan for a high school class in biology that she developed. Bridget’s work focuses on climate change. Within this subject she is cultivating students as leaders and global citizens, as well as on strategies to incorporate educational technology into the classroom.
