John’s academic (science) and professional (pedagogy) interests come together nicely in the HHMI Education Group. He is currently kept busy with work at the Bok Center as its resident scientist on staff, teaching two graduate seminars (‘Designing the Course of the Future’ at the Bok Center and the ‘SEAS Teaching Practicum’ in Harvard’s Engineering School) as well as supporting faculty and graduate instructors in various ways. Current topics of interest include bringing results from cognitive science into course and lesson planning, and creating support structures for classroom-based research.
